PRIVATE 5 DAYS LUXURY ITINERARY FROM MARRAKECH

    (26 Reviews)
PRIVATE TOUR — MARRAKECH CITY & SAHARA DESERT
    OVERVIEW

Five days in Morocco is both a gift and a challenge — enough time to experience two completely different worlds, but not so much that you can afford to waste any of it. This Marrakech Itinerary 5 Days is built around one of the country’s great contrasts: the vibrant, sensory whirlwind of Marrakech on one side, and the vast, humbling silence of the Sahara desert on the other.

You’ll begin and end in Marrakech, giving you time to explore the legendary medina, the bustling souks, and the city’s historic monuments before heading out on a private desert adventure through the High Atlas Mountains, the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. A final day back in the city rounds everything off — a well-paced Morocco experience that covers a remarkable amount of ground without ever feeling rushed.

Everything is fully customisable to suit your pace, interests, and travel style.

    ITINERARY

    DAY 1: ARRIVE IN MARRAKECH

Your Marrakech adventure starts the moment you land. After a transfer from the airport to your accommodation, the day is yours — settle in, wander a little, and let the city come to you.

Marrakech rewards the curious. Lose yourself in the winding lanes of the medina, stop for mint tea at a rooftop café, and make your way to the extraordinary Jemaa el-Fnaa Square as evening falls. This UNESCO-listed public space transforms at dusk into a great open-air theatre of storytellers, musicians, acrobats, and food stalls — one of the most extraordinary scenes in all of Africa.

A local guide is available to take you through the medina and introduce you to the city’s major landmarks: the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, and the ancient tanneries.

DAY 2: MARRAKECH → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH → OUARZAZATE → DADES VALLEY

After an early breakfast, your private vehicle heads south. The road climbs through the High Atlas Mountains, cresting at the Tizi n’Tichka Pass before descending into the warmer, drier landscapes of southern Morocco.

The iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah is your first stop — a UNESCO World Heritage Site of earthen towers and ancient alleyways, one of the most visited and photographed monuments in the country. From there, you pass through Ouarzazate — gateway to the Sahara and home to Africa’s largest film studio — before heading east to the Dades Valley for the night.

The valley’s dramatic gorge, layered in shades of red and ochre, makes for a spectacular setting as you settle in.

DAY 3: DADES VALLEY → TODRA CANYON → MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, the drive continues to Tinghir and the legendary Todra Canyon. Walking the canyon floor between walls that rise hundreds of metres on either side is one of Morocco’s natural highlights — humbling, quiet, and genuinely impressive.

From Tinghir, the terrain flattens and the air grows drier as you approach the desert. By late afternoon, the magnificent dunes of Erg Chebbi rise from the horizon. You arrive in time for a golden-hour camel ride into the heart of the dunes, watching the sun sink below the sand.

Dinner, Berber music, and a sky full of stars complete the evening at your luxury desert camp.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA DESERT → AGDEZ → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → MARRAKECH

After a Sahara sunrise and a final breakfast at the camp, the return journey begins. The route passes through the ancient town of Agdez in the Draa Valley, where palmeries and historic ksour line the road, before climbing back through the High Atlas Mountains and descending to Marrakech in the early evening.

    DAY 5: EXPLORE MARRAKECH

The last day is entirely yours. The Majorelle Garden, designed by Yves Saint Laurent, is a beautiful and tranquil escape from the medina bustle. The Museum of Moroccan Arts is worth a visit. A hammam session is always a good idea. Or simply wander back into the souks for last-minute shopping and one final mint tea.

Your local guide from Day 1 is available again if you’d like more structured sightseeing — otherwise, the day is entirely open.

    FAQ

How do I book a tour, and what are the payment terms?

To secure your reservation, we require a percentage deposit (payable via PayPal or Credit Card) at the time of booking. The remaining balance can be paid in cash (Euros, US Dollars, or Moroccan Dirhams) to your driver upon pick-up at the start of your tour. You may also choose to pay the full amount in advance via card or PayPal, though a standard transaction fee may apply.

    What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that travel plans can change. Generally, if you cancel well in advance (two months or more), you will receive a full refund. Cancellations made closer to the departure date may be subject to partial refunds or fees, while last-minute cancellations within a week of the tour are typically non-refundable. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to adjust your dates.

Can I change or modify my private itinerary?

Absolutely. Our private tours are fully flexible. We want your trip to be perfect, so if you wish to adjust your itinerary, simply let us know. We kindly request that any significant changes be communicated at least two weeks before your tour begins so we can make the necessary arrangements with hotels and guides.

Is Morocco a safe destination for tourists?

Yes, Morocco is considered a very safe destination for travelers. The country has a low crime rate, and Moroccan people are globally renowned for their warmth and generous hospitality.

Are there physical restrictions for certain activities?

Our tours are designed to be enjoyed by everyone, but certain activities require a basic level of fitness. For example, we advise against camel trekking for pregnant women, individuals who have recently undergone surgery, those with severe back issues, or travelers over the age of 70. We can always arrange comfortable 4×4 transportation to the desert camps as a great alternative!

What essential items should I pack?

We recommend packing comfortable, sturdy walking shoes for exploring medinas and ancient ruins. Bring a hat, high-SPF sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and your camera. If your tour includes a desert overnight stay, it is crucial to pack warm layers (like a fleece or jacket), as temperatures drop significantly in the Sahara at night.

    Tour Customizations & Logistics

Are your tours suitable for families and children? Yes! Morocco is a fantastic family destination. Our guided city tours, desert camps, and activities are highly family-friendly and can be adapted to suit the pace and interests of travelers of all ages.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs? Certainly. Moroccan cuisine is diverse and adaptable. Whether you are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or have specific food allergies, simply inform us at the time of booking, and we will ensure your dietary needs are fully met throughout your journey.

Can we add optional activities to our tour? Yes, adventure awaits! We can easily add optional excursions to your itinerary, such as ATV quad biking, sandboarding down the dunes, or buggy tours in the desert. Just let us know what you are interested in.

Can we do a day trip to the Sahara Desert? Because the true Sahara Desert (like Merzouga or Zagora) is located quite far from major cities—for example, it is over 600 kilometers from Casablanca and involves a long drive over the Atlas Mountains from Marrakech—it cannot be done in a single day. To truly experience the magic of the dunes, we highly recommend a multi-day tour of at least 3 to 4 days.
